The postcard photo is printed and pasted on the attendance sheet, so it has to survive ink and handling. Export at 300 DPI, print on photo paper at exactly 4 × 6 inches, and keep a spare copy in the same envelope as the admit card.

How to resize a NEET Photo

  1. Choose the NEET Photo preset. It is already selected on this page: 1200 × 1800 px at 300 DPI, with a 10–200 KB working range.
  2. Upload your photo. Use a recent, front-facing photograph with a plain light background. Keep the full face, both ears and the top of the head inside the frame.
  3. Download and check the file. The target is 120 KB. Confirm the output size shown by the tool, then upload the downloaded file to the official portal before the form closes.

Official NEET photo rules

  • Use a 4 × 6 inch postcard photograph, which is 1200 × 1800 px at 300 DPI.
  • Keep the uploaded JPEG between 10 KB and 200 KB.
  • Use a white background with the face filling about 80% of the frame.
  • Print the candidate's name and the date of the photograph at the bottom.
  • Carry the printed postcard to the exam centre along with the admit card and ID.

Why NEET photo files get rejected

  • A 2 × 2 inch passport photo is uploaded instead of the 4 × 6 inch postcard.
  • The image is below 1200 × 1800 px and looks pixelated when printed.
  • The name or date is missing, or the text is too small to read on paper.
  • The crop cuts off the top of the head or the shoulders.
  • The file is above 200 KB or the print has a coloured border.

Frequently asked questions

Is the NEET postcard photo the same as the passport photo?

No. The passport photo is 3.5 × 4.5 cm for the online form. The postcard is a 4 × 6 inch print for the exam centre. The postcard has more space, so do not simply enlarge the small upload.

What DPI should I use for the NEET postcard?

300 DPI. At that density a 4 × 6 inch print is 1200 × 1800 px, which is the box this preset exports. Printing at 72 DPI would stretch the same pixel count over the paper and look soft.

Can I print the postcard at home?

You can, if your printer produces a true 4 × 6 inch photo on photo paper. A lab print is more reliable for colour and sharpness. Check the measured size with a ruler before carrying it to the centre.
