A signature that is legible on paper can still arrive at SSC as a grey, blurred rectangle after a phone scan. Start with dark ink on unruled white paper, leave a small margin around the strokes, and let the tool handle the final pixel box.

How to resize a SSC Signature

  1. Choose the SSC Signature preset. It is already selected on this page: 140 × 60 px at 100 DPI, with a 10–20 KB working range.
  2. Upload your signature. Sign in running hand with a dark blue or black pen on plain white paper. Crop close to the strokes but leave a small white margin.
  3. Download and check the file. The target is 15 KB. Confirm the output size shown by the tool, then upload the downloaded file to the official portal before the form closes.

Official SSC signature rules

  • Upload a JPEG signature between 10 KB and 20 KB.
  • Use the 4.0 cm × 2.0 cm signature box, exported here as 140 × 60 px.
  • Sign in running hand with a black or blue pen on plain white paper.
  • Do not use capital or block letters. SSC treats a printed-looking signature as invalid.
  • Leave a narrow white margin around the signature so no stroke touches the edge of the crop.

Why SSC signature files get rejected

  • The signature is written in capital or block letters.
  • The scan includes ruled lines, a table edge or a shadow from the phone.
  • One end of the signature is cut off by a crop that is too tight.
  • The file is 9 KB or 21 KB, just outside the allowed range.
  • Heavy JPEG compression turns thin pen strokes into a grey blur.

Frequently asked questions

Can I sign in capital letters for SSC?

No. SSC asks for a running-hand signature and rejects block or capital-letter signatures. Sign naturally in the same style you would use on the attendance sheet.

What are the SSC signature dimensions and file size?

The published box is 4.0 cm × 2.0 cm with a 10–20 KB JPEG limit. This preset exports 140 × 60 px, which is the pixel version used by the online form.

How do I keep the signature sharp at 10–20 KB?

Sign larger than the final box with a dark pen, then crop close to the strokes. A clean black-on-white scan compresses better than a grey photo, so the strokes stay sharp inside the small file limit.
