Supports JPG, PNG, and WebP format
The thumb impression is the upload most often rejected for a smudge rather than a wrong size. Press once, lift straight up, and let the ink dry before scanning; a clean print compresses to 20–50 KB without turning the ridges into a grey patch.

How to resize a IBPS Thumb
- Choose the IBPS Thumb preset. It is already selected on this page: 240 × 240 px at 200 DPI, with a 20–50 KB working range.
- Upload your thumb. Take a clear thumb impression with blue or black ink on plain white paper. Keep the ridges sharp and avoid smudging the edges.
- Download and check the file. The target is 30 KB. Confirm the output size shown by the tool, then upload the downloaded file to the official portal before the form closes.
Official IBPS thumb rules
- Upload a JPEG between 20 KB and 50 KB.
- Use the left thumb only. The IBPS declaration and portal instructions specify the left thumb impression.
- Capture the print in the 3 cm × 3 cm box, which this preset exports as 240 × 240 px at 200 DPI.
- Use blue or black ink on plain white paper. Do not use a stamp pad that bleeds through the sheet.
- Keep the whole print inside the frame with a small white margin. A print that touches the edge looks cut off.
Why IBPS thumb files get rejected
- The right thumb is uploaded instead of the left thumb.
- The print is smudged, double-pressed or too faint to show the ridge pattern.
- Ruled paper, a table edge or a shadow is visible around the impression.
- The file is just above 50 KB or below 20 KB.
- The crop cuts off the top or the base of the thumb print.
Frequently asked questions
Which thumb should I use for the IBPS impression?
IBPS asks for the left thumb impression. Use the same hand and the same print style on the application and on the call-letter verification sheet.
Can I use blue ink for the IBPS thumb impression?
Yes. IBPS accepts a blue or black impression as long as the ridges are clear. Avoid a watery pad that spreads into the paper and produces a dark blob after compression.
How do I keep the thumb print sharp at 20–50 KB?
Scan or photograph the print in daylight, crop close to the 3 × 3 cm box, and avoid sharpening filters. A clean print with visible ridges needs less compression than a faint, low-contrast one.
