BPSC's application portal uses a portrait box close to the IBPS size. Keep the background plain, avoid a photo taken against a door or curtain, and check that the face is not cropped at the forehead before you compress the file.

How to resize a BPSC Photo

  1. Choose the BPSC Photo preset. It is already selected on this page: 200 × 230 px at 200 DPI, with a 20–50 KB working range.
  2. Upload your photo. Use a recent, front-facing photograph with a plain light background. Keep the full face, both ears and the top of the head inside the frame.
  3. Download and check the file. The target is 40 KB. Confirm the output size shown by the tool, then upload the downloaded file to the official portal before the form closes.

Official BPSC photo rules

  • Upload a JPEG between 20 KB and 50 KB.
  • Use the 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm box, exported here as 200 × 230 px.
  • Keep the background white or light and free of shadows.
  • Fill about 80% of the frame with the face and keep both ears visible.
  • Use a recent colour photo without a cap, mask or dark glasses.

Why BPSC photo files get rejected

  • The file is outside the 20–50 KB range.
  • The photo is landscape or square instead of portrait.
  • The background is patterned or has a shadow.
  • The face is too small or the top of the head is cropped.
  • The image is a screenshot or a filtered selfie.

Frequently asked questions

What is the BPSC photo size in pixels?

BPSC applications have used a 3.5 × 4.5 cm photograph, commonly exported as 200 × 230 px with a 20–50 KB limit. Check the current BPSC advertisement for the exact box before uploading.

What signature does BPSC require?

BPSC asks for a separate running-hand signature in a small JPEG box. The exact pixels and KB limit are printed in the current notice; use the matching signature preset and sign in black or blue ink on white paper.

Can I use the same BPSC photo for other Bihar exams?

The base portrait can be reused if the other portal asks for the same 3.5 × 4.5 cm proportion. Export a fresh file for each application so the KB count matches that portal's limit.
